Kip protective tapes are the perfect helpers for masking in indoor and outdoor areas during plastering, stucco, and building protection work. They consist of a PVC or PE carrier, whose properties influence the behaviour of the tape. PVC is resistant to water, acids, alkalis, alcohol, oils, petrol, and saltwater. Sunlight has little effect on its mechanical properties – thus, it remains dimensionally stable under temperature fluctuations and allows for straight edge masking. For weathered plastic substrates, it is advisable to conduct a preliminary test application. PE, on the other hand, is milky white and naturally elastic. It is also insensitive to water, solvents, acids, and alkalis at lower temperatures. As a result, the tape remains dimensionally stable and can be unwound well at high and low temperatures without warping. The high-quality separation layer also provides very easy unwinding behaviour. This protective tape is ideal for professional protection of smooth surfaces (painted or primed wood) as well as aluminium and glass surfaces. However, caution is advised when used on weathered PVC substrates. The tape is resistant up to 80°C and consists of a smooth and stable soft PVC film with natural rubber adhesive in Premium Plus quality.
